Dogs’ Day Out to unleash fun

Dogs' Day Out Burnett Heads sensory dog off-leash park
Dogs' Day Out will have all the tails wagging with the perfect balance of fun, education, and competitions for furry friends and their owners.

Grab your four-legged friend and get ready to unleash the fun at Bundaberg Regional Council’s Dogs' Day Out.

Dogs' Day Out will have all the tails wagging with the perfect balance of fun, education, and competitions for furry friends and their owners.

The event will also have a variety of stalls dedicated to canines, which includes pet products, dog obedience education, discounted microchipping, rescue adoption and much more.

Council’s new Burnett Heads sensory dog off-leash park will also officially open at Jack Strathdee Memorial Park, which is sure to enrich every pooch’s experience.

Bundaberg Regional Council Health and Regulatory Services portfolio spokesperson Cr May Mitchell said the new park would come fully equipped with designated dog size areas, agility equipment, a dog bubbler, shade and seating areas for dog owners.

“The sensory dog park is designed with your furry companions in mind,” Cr Mitchell said.

“It's not just your typical dog park – it's an oasis of sensory experiences.

“The park features various zones where dogs can explore, play, and engage their senses.

“From agility courses to natural areas, it's a haven for dogs to exercise their bodies and minds.”

Cr Mitchell said the park also included an area perfect for small, medium and large breeds with open grassed areas which help for line of sight.

“If you’re unfamiliar with sensory parks, we’re excited to give residents a choice, with multiple in our region,” she said.

“It’s got rocks, mulch, lots of trees and is full of smells for your dog to explore.

“It will be a ‘pawsome’ addition that promises tail-wagging excitement and joy for our four-legged friends and their families!”

Dogs' Day Out will be held between 8 am and 11 am on Saturday 4 November at Jack Strathdee Memorial Park, Neill Street, Burnett Heads. To find out more about the fantastic dog parks in the Bundaberg Region click here.
