Riverside Walkway temporary closure

Riverside walkway closure
Walkway traffic will be diverted to Quay Street during the drainage works, as highlight in yellow above.

Riverside Walkway users are advised the section of the walkway between Bundaberg-Gin Gin Road Bridge to RSL will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 14 November.

The temporary closure is necessary to allow Bundaberg Regional Council to undertake drainage works at Anzac Park.

All walkway traffic will be diverted to Quay Street as highlighted in yellow on the map above, with signage in place to guide pathway users.

Drainage improvement works in Anzac Park commenced in September, as part of the redevelopment of the site.

Weather permitting, works affecting the Riverside Walkway are expected to be completed within four weeks.

Bundaberg Regional Council is aware of the inconvenience construction work causes and thanks the public in advance for their patience and co-operation.

For any enquiries in relation to the works, please contact Council on 1300 883 699.

Project information about the redevelopment of Bundaberg Anzac Park can be found here.

  1. the info is incorrect. it is the burnett traffic bridge.
it is not part of bundaberg gin gin rd and never has been.
it connects quay st to perry st.
gin gin rd doesnt start till the other end of queen st. and originally it didnt connect that far either that was put through when don tallon bridge was built.

  2. Yesterday’s article quoting the Mayor and J Bartells incorrectly stated that the path was open outside of work hours. It’s currently closed 24/7.
Accurate information on the digital sign near the zoo would be very helpful for path users.
