The Bundaberg Art Society (BAS) will be hosting its final exhibition for the year with the theme being no theme at all under the title Anything Goes.
Over 80 paintings and drawings and 10 sculptural pieces across across a variety of styles and subjects will be on display at the Hazzard Gallery with the official opening taking place this evening at 6 pm.
BAS President Marilyn Batty said it was a great opportunity for the community to support local art and artists.
“We do not have a theme for this exhibition which allows our artists to put something in that they have not only enjoyed creating but are proud to put out there for everyone to ponder,” Marilyn said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what our artists put in this year, they always step up to the mark and give our hanging team a challenge.”
As well as the creative creations on display, there will be a fully stocked shop ready with Christmas gift ideas for every price range as well as a raffle prize from award-winning artist and watercolour tutor Colleen Helmore.
Marilyn said it had been another successful year for BAS and she hoped this exhibition would encourage new members to join and participate.
“We have had a very successful year holding six member exhibitions and several workshops and our gift shop has been well supported,” Marilyn said.
“Some members have travelled overseas to attend workshops to enhance their individual arts practice and we encourage all levels to have a go.
“This exhibition will showcase many of the results of both experienced artists and those beginning their artistic journeys.”
BAS holds monthly meetings and have tutors available to teach mixed media, printmaking and watercolours as well as established members who are happy to offer help and advice.
