Calling local businesses for 2024 Childers Festival

Local businesses can showcase their products at this year’s Childers Festival with expressions of interest for stallholders now open.

Renowned as the festival that closes the highway and delights the senses, Bundaberg Regional Council’s event attracted an estimated attendance of more than 30,000 last year.

Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the festival was the perfect opportunity for local businesses to promote their produce to a large and diverse audience.

“There are so many fantastic local businesses and artists in our region,” Cr Learmonth said.

“The Childers Festival is the perfect event for them to gain more exposure, with thousands of festivalgoers attending each year.

“Showcasing local businesses is a vital part of the annual festival and Council’s role in supporting small business.”

Cr Learmonth said stallholders located in the 4660 postcode would be eligible for a 50 per cent stallholder site fee discount.

“To help us highlight locally made, produced and curated products, we offer discounted fees to stallholders which are located in Childers.

“The process to register your stallholder expression of interest is simple, with applicants asked to fill out the form and upload all relevant documents online.

“The site fees go towards the rising cost of the operational requirement of delivering this iconic festival.”

Stallholder fees for those in the 4660 postcode – 3 m x3 m site $144.50 and 6 m x 3 m site $289.

Stallholders outside 4660 postcode –3 m x 3 m site $289, 6 m x 3 m site $578.

Twilight Market stallholders

The Twilight Market will kickstart the Childers Festival for 2024, moving to the new location of Crescent Street, on Thursday 25 July from 5 to 9 pm.
