Calling out to all singers, dancers, bands, jugglers, stilt walkers, magicians and performers to submit an expression of interest to entertain the crowds at next year’s Childers Festival.
Every year in the last weekend of July people from across Australia head to Childers to celebrate the multicultural, arts and food festival.
A variety of skillsets are required to keep the festival crowd entertained.
Simon Ghali from the Hot Potato Band who performed at this year’s Childers Festival said they were amazed at how many people the festival attracted.
“The festival atmosphere was buzzing,” Simon said.
“Almost everywhere you looked there was something to see, do or listen to.
“It’s amazing to showcase and share your art to a large, attentive audience.”
Council’s Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said the Childers Festival entertainment lineup draws thousands to the event.
“Performing at the festival is an excellent opportunity for artists to be a part of the Childers Festival excitement,” Cr Learmonth said.
“The live and diverse range of entertainment really creates the festival vibe.
“It would be great to dive into the local talent pool and showcase more artists and musicians from the region at the Childers Festival next year.”
The Childers Festival will be held from 25 to 28 July in 2024.
Performers and entertainers are invited to submit an expression of interest here.
Expressions of interest close on 24 November with performers notified of an outcome in February 2024.
