The draws for the Championship Singles and Championship Pairs have been completed and are now on the competition boards. Members are asked to check the draw and to start arranging games by mutual agreement where possible.
The Nominations for all B Grade events and the A & B Pairs have been extended for two weeks. More teams are required, especially in the B Grade Fours. Please consider putting a team together and nominating.
Wide Bay Bowls Classic: Division 1 teams have been selected for Round 1 which is to be played on Saturday 3rd February Vs Urangan at Burnett. Teams are posted on the Club Noticeboard.
Social Bowls Events:
Visitors are most welcome on all playing days. Entry sheets are at the club or phone the Club on 41514217 during opening hours. If you cannot get through to the club number regarding bowls, then phone 0405373754.
Tuesday 23 January: $300 Open Triples – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12 pm, green fees paid by 12.45 pm for a 1 pm start.
Wednesday 24 January: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – this is a fun game of Singles similar to consistency singles where points are allocated to the 4 closest bowls to the jack. Games are played over 12 ends with no driving allowed. Names in by 6.15 pm with games starting at 6.30 pm. Green fees are $10 with 50 percent of the green fees being returned as prize money. All ability levels are welcome so come along for a fun night out.
Thursday 25 January: ‘Social Thursday’ Open Pairs (Men’s, Ladies, Mixed). Names in by 2.15 pm as games will commence at 2.30 pm. Play till 4.30 pm with 2 random lucky draws as prizes.
Thursday 25 January: Night Bowls – bowls start at 6.30 pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot which will be $147+ this week. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made to feel very welcome.

Club News:
Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 11am – 9pm, Thursday 2pm – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 9pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.
Club Closed this Friday – The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night 2 February at 7 pm – Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased during the week from the Bar staff or on Friday night. There are 15 great prizes to be won – you need to be in it to win it! Proceeds from the raffle help to support your Club.
The next Member’s Draw will be on Friday night 2 February, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.
There will be no live entertainment on Friday night the 26 January as the Club is closed due to the Australia Day Holiday, however live entertainment will be back the following Friday (2nd February) and will be performed by ‘The Other Bloke’. Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.

Tuesday 16 January 2024, Ladies Day: The Ladies are cracking on with the competition fours with another game played today between Team Lorelle and Team Gloria. Social paddle pop triples also played today.

The game resulted in a hard fought win to team Lorelle 22/17. Team Lorelle also took out the winning rink draw so a win, win to them!
Wednesday 17 January 2024: Mens Day with another round played in the Men’s Open Fours Competition, and what an amazing couple of games they were. Very close scores indicating, hard fought games! Team Byrnes had a 22/20 win over Team Cornish.

Today we had the final of the Open Mens Fours and the 2023 final of the B Grade Triples as well as social jackpot pairs.
Open Men’s Final: The battle of the titans between Team Byrnes and Team Nuttall.
Team Nuttall began well, holding the lead for almost the entire match, in fact until the twentieth end.
End nineteen saw the score sitting on 21/16, end twenty was a nightmare for team Nuttall when five in front, team Byrnes was holding two when the maestro Robbie Byrnes came in with his last bowl and took a seven to take the lead 23/21.
A one on the twenty first end gave team Byrnes the win 24/21.
