A new service to assist families with child car seat fittings and hires will launch in Bundaberg next month.
Kids in Safe Seats (KiSS) is a service that checks, installs and hires child car seats for
parents and carers who want to ensure the safety of their little ones on the road.
KiSS offers car seat fitting appointments and click and collect car seat hires.
KiSS aims to help parents and carers comply with these legal requirements and ensure the best possible protection for their children.
Kiss and Wide Bay Kids cofounder Angela Twyford said she was passionate about
providing a quality service for child car seat safety in Bundaberg.
“As a mother of two, I know how important it is to have peace of mind when travelling with your kids,” she said.
“I also know how confusing and stressful it can be to install and adjust car seats correctly.
“That’s why we decided to start KiSS, to make it easier and more affordable for parents and carers to access a professional and reliable service for child car seat fittings and hires.”
KiSS car seat installations will be free for anyone living in the Hinkler region with a valid
concession card until 30 June 2024.
Customers will receive expert advice and recommendations for positioning of existing and new seat installations from an ACRI accredited and trained professional installer.
According to the Queensland Government, children under 7 years of age must be secured in a child car seat that meets Australian standards.
The type and position of the child car seat depends on the child’s age and size, as well as the number of rows of seats in the car.
This is possible through the Social Shift program funded by the Department of Social Services Local Services Plans – Community-Led Support Fund.
Initially, KiSS will be open for bookings on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 6 March.
Customers can book their car seat fitting or hire online at www.kidsinsafeseats.com or
