Families can enjoy fun learning experiences with their young ones at the Bundaberg Library’s Playtime sessions held on Saturdays during March.
Thanks to First 5 Forever, families with children under 6 years are invited to play at the Bundaberg Library.
The self-guided Playtime sessions are designed to encourage children and their families to engage with various types of play, including imaginative, social, object and movement play.
Children learn vital skills through play, which is why the library and First 5 Forever have created these special activity sessions.
Playtime @ the Library allows learning to occur organically, giving children the opportunity to practice fine and gross motor skills, and build language.
Each session this month will focus on bringing the stories of popular children’s authors to life through play.
Saturday 16 March – Dr Seuss
On Saturday 16 March little library visitors and their families will be able to explore play experiences based on Dr Seuss’s popular Cat in the Hat, The Lorax and Green Eggs and Ham stories.
Loved by young readers, Dr Seuss’s works feature interesting language and rhyme combined with bright and vibrant illustrations.
Saturday 23 March – Julia Donaldson
The Playtime session on Saturday 23 March is devoted to author Julia Donaldson, who has written some best-loved children’s books.
Little ones can delight in play experiences based on the stories of The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and A Squash and a Squeeze.
