Bundaberg Regional Council has set its monthly briefing and ordinary meetings with community members encouraged to attend or livestream to find out more about local government.
Meetings of Council form an integral part of the planning, policy and decision-making process.
Councillors recently confirmed future meeting dates as part of Section 257 of the Local Government Regulation 2012.
Ordinary meetings will be generally held on the last Tuesday of each month at 10 am and provide a formal setting where elected councillors discuss and decide on key issues affecting the region.
These sessions are open to the public, allowing residents to observe the decision-making process firsthand.
Council will conduct briefing meetings on the Wednesday prior to the ordinary meeting, at 9 am.
These informal sessions allow councillors to receive updates from staff and discuss upcoming agenda items in a more casual setting, fostering a deeper understanding of the topics at hand.
While public attendance is permitted, active participation is generally limited to councillors and invited guests.
Watch online
Every meeting is livestreamed alongside a copy of the agenda.
The recordings from past meetings can also be viewed at any time.
Any changes to meeting dates and times will be posted on the Bundaberg Regional Council website.
Seating in the gallery
All public meetings are held in the Bundaberg Regional Council chambers, 190 Bourbong Street.
Seating in the chamber gallery has recently been increased to a capacity of 40 people.
Council provides overflow seating within its nearby Function Room where a livestream is made available in the event that gallery seating provisions within the chamber have been exhausted.
Check-in capacity has been doubled however Council recommends attendees arrive earlier than the scheduled meeting time to allow sufficient time for this process.
