Significant upgrades to enhance the safety and aesthetics of Isis War Memorial Pool are now complete with the popular facility reopening to serve the community.
The renovation works, including replacing the existing swimming pool tiles with a modern fibreglass surface completed by Bundaberg Regional Council, have not only given the facility a facelift but also increased the lifespan of the pool.
Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Cr Carmen McEneany said it was fantastic to have the solar-heated aquatic facility reopened to the community.
“Residents can enjoy the revitalised facility as the renovation work is now complete,” she said.
“The cracked and damaged tiles were replaced with a modern fibreglass surface which also significantly enhances the safety of the pool for all users.
“Not only is the new pool surface durable, but these upgrades give the Isis Memorial Pool a contemporary look.”
Cr McEneany said the popular swimming pool complex offered the benefit of solar heating for year-round swimming activities.
The pool is open daily throughout most of the year, excluding a short period for maintenance during winter, and Christmas Day and Good Friday when it is closed.
