Moore Park Beach Arts Festival 2022
The Moore Park Beach Arts Festival is a great day out for all ages offering an array of stage and beach entertainment.

The Moore Park Beach Arts Festival to be held on Saturday 17 August promises to be bigger and better than ever.

According to Moore Park Beach Arts Inc’s President Trish Mears, it will be a great day out for all ages.

“There really is something for everyone at this year’s Festival,” Trish said.

“From discovering some treasures at our markets, to enjoying tasty food and drinks, to learning new skills and enjoying great art and entertainment, we think all ages will have plenty to enjoy at this year’s Moore Park Beach Arts Festival.”

Stage and beach entertainment will be huge this year with lots of interactive fun including Sandshapers sand sculpture and workshops.

Australian chainsaw carver from the Sunshine Coast Melanie Schweiger will be displaying incredible chainsaw art.

A Cultural Village will be a highlight of the day, with festival goers able to wander through and learn about many cultures, their arts, crafts and foods.

Children of all ages will also be catered for with Funny Bunnies Soft Play, alpacas and the young and young at heart will have the opportunity to join in the fun at an exciting hoop party, create their own hoop and immerse in a world of playful hula hooping.

There will also be an array of food, drinks and over 100 market stalls.

The Moore Park Beach Art Awards in the Community Centre will have some wonderful art on display from 10 am until 5 pm, with many of the entries available for sale.

This year 314 pieces have been entered into the prestigious awards.

Festival goers can vote for their favourite, with the winner receiving a $200 cash prize sponsored by Moore Park Beach Community Association.

The winning entries of the Moore Park Beach Pharmacy Primary School Art Competition will also be on display.

Art Coordinator Jess Newitt said it has been great to see so many students take part.

“We thank both Gooburrum and Moore Park Beach primary schools for their participation and support,” Jess said.

“The artwork done by the students is amazing and shows such dedication and talent.”

After fabulous stage entertainment all day from 10 am, festival goers are encouraged to bring a picnic rug and sit and enjoy the headline act at 6 pm – Bundaberg’s own Keely Ellen.

The Bundaberg teenager has graced the stage at the iconic Gympie Music Muster sharing billing with renowned artists such as The Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins and Catherine Britt.

Alongside her performances, Keely has had the privilege of being mentored by multi-award-winning singer-songwriter Lyn Bowtell, whose guidance has undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping Keely’s artistic journey.

The Moore Park Beach Arts Festival will finish in spectacular fashion with fireworks just after 7 pm.
