Council may need to turn off the water supply in your area to undertake essential planned water maintenance.

For planned interruptions, properties in the affected area will receive a letter drop off 48 hours before the programmed works.

During business hours, updates about both planned and unplanned water service interruptions are also provided on Council’s website.

Below are some best practice suggestions for planned water interruptions:

  • Store sufficient water for your requirements during this period.
  • Ensure that all taps are turned off and appliances which use water are not in operation.
  • Not use hot water during this time.
  • Switch instantaneous hot water heaters off.

Once the interruption ends and your water supply does not resume, you experience low water pressure or after some time your water is discoloured, you can contact Council 1300 883 699 to report the fault.

To find out more about service interruptions visit Council’s website.
