Community members are invited to grab a coffee at Mary Kinross Park and explore their artistic talents with Art in the Park, hosted by The Crafty Goose.
For The Crafty Goose owners Donna and Mark Lamprecht investing in a small mobile business was a dream come true, and each day serving delicious coffee by the coast is more than they could hope for.
When they started their venture, in their vintage 1970s caravan turned espresso van, 18 months ago Donna said the timing was perfect as Council had just completed upgrades to Mary Kinross Park at Bargara.
“Council has done a lovely upgrade to the park, so it was the right time for us and The Crafty Goose,” she said.
“We are now settled in and things are going great.”
Donna said the popular seaside location is ideal for community members to relax, and she now runs the Art in the Park event each month.
“I have always liked to do art as a hobby, and so I thought why not start art in the park” Donna said.
“So far, a group of between eight and 10 participants meet and share art ideas and practices, it’s different people each time and a lot of fun.
“We have done a combination of drawings, charcoal work, acrylics, inks and painting.
“It’s different each month, and sometimes we go down to the beach or we just stay in the beautiful park.”
The Crafty Goose name stemmed from the original owners, with the mobile espresso van also perfect for events such as weddings.
“We wanted to invest in something truly unique and that's definitely what the Goose is,” Donna said.
“After 15 years in the hospitality management sector, Mark, aka Lamo, was inspired by the potential of The Crafty Goose after seeing it in operation on the Sunshine Coast.”
Donna said The Crafty Goose Art in the Park event was held once a month at Mary Kinross Park from 9-11am, with the next session held on 21 February, for more information check out their Facebook page.
