Gallery open hours extended for better viewing opportunity

BRAG will extend its opening hours from April 1.

A change to opening hours of the Bundaberg Region's art galleries will provide residents with more opportunity to view the great works on display.

Bundaberg Regional Council's Community and Cultural Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said changes would take affect from April 1.

“The Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery and Childers Art Space will be extending their opening hours on both the weekend and public holidays to better reflect public demand,” Cr Peters said.

“We exhibit some amazing and creative displays at both of these venues so it is only fitting that the opening hours are adjusted so more people can enjoy what is on show.”

Cr Peters said BRAG would also be open earlier, from 9.30 am, Monday to Friday in response to community feedback.

“What a perfect opportunity for parents to drop in and see what the gallery has to offer after dropping the kids off to school,” she said.

The Bundaberg Region has a number of vibrant art galleries open to the public.

Cr Peters said both art galleries not only displayed local artwork but also pieces from around Australia and the world.

“We are very lucky to have two vibrant gallery spaces dedicated to providing premier arts and cultural experiences in the Bundaberg Region,” Cr Peters said.

Both gallery spaces boast a year-round program of local, touring and national art exhibitions, visiting artists, workshops, artist talks, educational programs, kids’ activities and much more.”
