An outdoor art room is making the school holidays “pop” with fun and creativity with the Pop Culture Festival at Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery.

Last week, families gathered in the park next door to BRAG on Barolin Street to take part in the festival all about art, culture and creation.

Community and Cultural Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said the school holiday fun started last week and would continue this week for anyone who missed out.

“Using music, gaming, movies, fashion or even ‘Netflix’ as inspiration, children created their own mini magazines or ‘zines’, as well as original button badges inspired by pop culture,” Cr Peters said.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for kids to get creative and do something a little bit unique.”

Cr Peters said this week the Pop Culture Festival would be held again for those wishing to take part in the fun.

“Head along to Gallery Park this Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm and let your imagination run wild!” Cr Peters said.

The free holiday art play is suitable for children aged six to 14 years old.
