Fishers at Winfield now have a shining beacon of light to help them navigate to and from the boat ramp thanks to a new solar installation.

Bundaberg Regional Council has installed a solar-powered light at the boat ramp after receiving requests from residents.

Divisional representative Cr Jason Bartels said a pole was installed recently and a solar light fitting followed a few days later.

“Winfield residents don’t ask for much and when they came to me with the issue of there being no light at the boat ramp, I acted quickly and with the cooperation of BRC Parks and Gardens Section a solar-powered light was able to be provided and installed,” he said.

“It is the small issues like this that make such a big difference and continue to improve the livability and lifestyle of our region.”

Cr Bartels said now the solar installation was complete, residents were already reaping the benefits.

“The residents have said that it works great and provides plenty of light without being blinding or a nuisance,” he said.
