Have you spotted the bright green police all-terrain vehicle (ATV), aka the green machine, out and about around Bargara?

With the upcoming school holidays you can expect to see more of the vehicle.

Officer-in-charge at Bargara, Sergeant Matt Steinhardt, said police would be using the ATV to patrol off-road areas, particularly parks and beaches.

“We ask those who are enjoying the outdoors, that they do so safely and responsibly,” Sgt Steinhardt said.

“Remember to lock your vehicle and don’t leave your valuables laying unattended on the beach.

“Make sure you swim between the flags and remember it is an offence to consume alcohol in public places such as beaches and parks.”

“A big thank you to Agnes Water Police who have loaned the ATV to Bargara Police.”
