A new Lifeline store is set to open its doors in Bundaberg North, offering quality clothing from just $2 per item.
Lifeline Bundaberg regional business manager Andrew Armstrong said the clearance store would work a little differently from superstores that were already located in parts of the region, only selling clothing items at very cheap prices.
“This store will feature excess, quality clothing from our other stores which have been marked very low at $2 each,” he said.
“Shoppers can buy up to 20 items for $2 each or, if they wish to buy more, our bulk prices will be $5 per kilo of clothing.”
Andrew said the store was already receiving positive feedback on social media from Bundaberg North residents.
“We posted news about the opening on Facebook and residents in the area are already stating how pleased they are that a secondhand store is coming to their neighbourhood,” he said.
“It’s perfect for those who are not able to travel easily to our other Lifeline shops.”
Lifeline crisis support benefits from new store
Lifeline is a national charity providing people experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.
Andrew said the new store would provide many benefits to the community and the organisation itself once it was up and running.
“We have seen a huge increase in pressure to fundraise for our crisis support services. In this day and age the retail industry is hard,” he said.
“This shop will help alleviate that pressure by selling these items at cheaper prices to residents rather than the items being exported elsewhere, which ultimately does not help our fundraising efforts.
“By keeping our fundraising efforts going through this clearance store, we are helping our crisis support organisation to grow.”
Bundaberg North a great place for Lifeline
The opening of the Bundaberg North store has been something in the pipeline for a while, according to Andrew.
“It was just a matter of waiting for the right opportunity and the right space to come along,” he said.
“This new store is located in good view from the main thoroughfare of North Bundaberg and provides us with an opportunity to service another area of town.”
The opening of the Bundaberg North Lifeline clearance store will be on Monday, 21 October 2019 from 8.30am on Queen Street.
Andrew said volunteers were needed and welcome at the new Bundaberg North Lifeline clearance store.
