Work to start on Hungry Jacks development

A Material Change of Use development application was this week lodged with Bundaberg Regional Council for a food and drink outlet at 119-121 Bargara Road, Bundaberg East.

Work is set to start on the new 24-hour Hungry Jacks development on Bargara Road after Bundaberg Regional Council approved the operational works application.

The store, to be located in Bundaberg East at 119-121 Bargara Road, will be the third Hungry Jacks to open its doors in the region and will create 50 jobs.

With Hungry Jacks soon to be in the mix with other fast food franchises and takeaway options in the area, Bundaberg East is steadily growing its dining options.

A Domino’s Pizza has been established adjacent to the new Hungry Jacks site and a KFC opened nearby in 2019.

The Hungry Jacks development application acknowledged that, while this type of development was not specifically earmarked for this predominantly industrial zoned area, it would align well with these previously established fast food chains and take away stores.

Across the two blocks the development is proposed to include a 250 square metre low-rise building and 16 carparks in addition to 12 queuing spaces for a drive through.

The Hungry Jacks development is required to undertake some works to the Bargara Road and Morrison Street road intersection in accordance with State Government assessment agency conditions.
