Polycraft Boats booming locally and overseas

Since COVID struck, Polycraft has seen demand for its Bundaberg boats increase across local and international markets, allowing them to provide more jobs in the region.

The business produces Polyethylene boats in Bundaberg, using a zero-emissions manufacturing process and are 100% recyclable.

To assist in servicing the increased demand, Polycraft now employs over 40 staff at their Bundaberg based manufacturing facility.

As well as employing new staff, Polycraft has also put current staff through further training providing them the opportunity to upskill over the past year.

National Poly Industries General Manager David Garland said business had increased since the pandemic, with people more invested in assets that they can use whenever they like with travel restrictions still in place.

“While the COVID world has bought us many challenges, the recreational market has benefited,” David said.

“The restricted travel requirements have seen people now turn to holidaying at home and to spending time with their families in more traditional ways.

“The demand over the past 12 months has increased significantly with some customers waiting almost a year for their new boat.”

More recently, the company has been exporting internationally as the trends experienced domestically were also being reflected in the overseas market.

“Polycraft have exported many boats to several overseas markets this year,” David said.

“This has given us the opportunity to develop the brand across Europe, United Arab Emirates, United States of America and several other countries.”

Looking ahead for the next 12 months, Polycraft is continuing to find new designs to help enhance its offering.

Polycraft produced its first boat, the 3.00 Tuff Tender in Bundaberg, back in 2001 and since that time has added several new Polycraft boat models to the range.

“We will continue to invest in our range of boats into the future,” David said.

Polycraft has been manufacturing boats in Bundaberg and selling all over Australia for over 20 years.

With total commitment to quality, Polycraft is renowned for innovation and technological development.
