The community can again make a splash at Norville Park Swimming Pool with the popular spot open for the school holidays and featuring an all-new amenity block upgrade.
The bathroom amenities underwent major renovations when the swim season finished in April, with new toilets, shower cubicles and unisex facilities part of the fit-out.
Bundaberg Regional Council Sport and Recreation portfolio spokesperson Cr Vince Habermann said it was the first time a refurbishment had taken place to the amenity block since the venue opened in 1983.
“The amenity block has had a major overhaul and is looking absolutely fantastic with its new, modern design,” he said.
“More individual shower cubicles and toilets have been added to the area as well as the addition of family cubicles.
“There has also been a number of accessible amenities included, such as changerooms and ambulant facilities.”
Cr Habermann said the amenities were recognised as needing a major overhaul and come after a raft of other new upgrades to the pool.
“The Norville Park Swimming Pool has always been extremely popular with families and in the last few years has undergone upgrades to include new features such as the water playground,” he said.
“The amenity block at the site was extremely old-fashioned but now, it falls in line nicely with the rest of the updated features of the park.”
Cr Habermann said the pool had reopened on September 1 with the whole community invited to make a splash and enjoy the new features.
“With hotter days upon us and with holidays here, now is the perfect time to visit the pool,” he said.
“Norville Park Swimming Pool is open every day at 148 Enterprise Street.
“Anzac, Childers and Gin Gin Pools are also open, providing plenty of options for school holiday swimmers.”
