From markets to dancing, residents can enjoy a range of activities to help raise funds to revitalise and rejuvenate the Avenell Heights Hall.

With everything from old-time dancing to rockabilly and the potential for new Sunday markets, the Avenell Heights Hall has something for everyone.

A main fundraising event for the hall is the Monster Fundraiser, set to be held on Saturday 4 December, with a red and green theme.

Event organiser Evelyn Scott said the entire community was invited to come along to the event which would cater for all ages and abilities, with prizes for the best dressed also on offer.

“Billy Guy will provide the entertainment for the night, catering for everything from rock and roll to line dancing, old time, and partner dancing,” Evelyn said.

“We expect it will be a night of fun and laughter with people getting together before Christmas.

“It is being held in conjunction with local groups Just Rock and Rockabilly Rockers and the music will cater for all dancers and non-dancers alike.”

Old-time dancing has also started up at the hall on the second Thursday of each month from 7.30 pm – 10 pm featuring music from Ross Hatfield.

Expressions of interest have been requested for market stallholders interested in taking part in the proposed markets which would be held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month.

To register you interest, contact Bev on 4155 6274 after 5pm.

You can find out more about the range of new activities happening at the hall on their Facebook page.
