Finals of the Mens District Pennant Competitions. A large crowd of supporters watched the five Divisions play out some very close finishes.

Bowls Burnett Men

DIVISION 4 PENNANT WINNERS

Congratulations to our Division 4 Pennant team for winning the Pennant Final on the Weekend. They defeated Woodgate by 12 shots to bring home the flag. The winning team members were Keegan Lankowski, Jason Hall, Theo Poelstra, Denis Bust, Kerry Melham, Christian McLellan, Tim Clark and Des Kemp. Well Done fellas!

SOCIAL BOWLS RESULTS

The 1 bowl Jackpot was not won and will now be $180 next Tuesday.

PENNANT RESULTS

Commiserations to our Divisions 1 & 3 Pennant teams as they were defeated in their respective Pennant Final on Saturday. Division 1 went down to Bargara by 9 shots overall in an entertaining game. Division 3 also lost to Bargara but by a closer margin of 5 shots overall. Well done to Division 4 for winning their Final and bringing home the Flag to Burnett. We had 63 members play Pennant this season for Burnett and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your commitment and enthusiasm throughout the 7 weeks. SOCIAL BOWLS EVENTS

Visitors are most welcome on all playing days. Entry sheets are at the club or phone the Club on 41514217 during opening hours. If you cannot get through to the club number regarding bowls, then phone 0401341378 or 0466539441.

Tuesday 13th September: 50/50 Day – where 50 percent of the green fees for the day will be returned as prizemoney. Open Pairs (Men’s, Ladies, Mixed) Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm for a 1 pm start. The 1 bowl Jackpot is currently $160.

Wednesday 14th September: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – this is a fun game of Singles similar to consistency singles where points are allocated to the 4 closest bowls to the jack. Games are played over 12 ends with no driving allowed. Names in by 6.15pm with games starting at 6.30pm. green fees are $8 with 50 percent of the green fees being returned as prizemoney. All ability levels welcome so come along for a fun night out.

Thursday 15th September: ‘Thirsty Thursday’ Open Pairs. 3pm start, names by 2.30pm. Free drink (Sponsored) included in green fees. Games will finish at 5pm with two random lucky draws as prizes.

Thursday 15th September: Night Bowls – bowls starts at 6.30pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot which is currently $564+. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made feel very welcome.

Friday 16th September: Open Pairs (Men’s, Ladies, Mixed) 1pm start, names by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm. Enjoy some social bowls with the chance to win the Friday Jackpot

Saturday 17th September: Social Bowls – Open Pairs (Men’s, Ladies, Mixed) Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.45pm for a 1pm start.

COMING EVENTS

Tuesday 20th September: Burnett Bonza Pairs – 2 games of 11 ends with winners Vs winners and losers Vs losers in the second game. Overall winners will be decided by adding together the number of ends won in both games.

CLUB NEWS

Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 10am – 9pm, Thursday 11am – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.

The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night at 7pm. The Member’s Draw is now at $190, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.

Live entertainment for this Friday night the 16th September will be Old Habits and the following Friday the 23rd September, live music will be delivered by Old Bones. Members, Guests and visitors are always welcome.
