Car parking at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct has been upgraded in time for this year’s Bundaberg Show.

Bundaberg Regional Council recently completed the installation of bollards and signage to assist motorists.

Road base materials were also added to the parking row entrance ways to limit the potential for wet weather to impact areas of high traffic use.

Mayor Jack Dempsey said the redesigned parking layout aimed to reduce the number of vehicle movements across the area while maintaining as many parking spaces as possible.

“The redesigned area now has 1,612 general vehicle spaces, 11 disabled spaces, 65 special access spaces and two bus spaces,” he said.

“The car park improvement work follows on from the construction of the new entry plaza and main pavilion upgrade, which were completed in 2021.

“The Bundaberg Recreational Precinct hosts a range of large events annually and these continued improvements are set to benefit a range of groups that choose this space as their premier event destination as well as the many visitors to the area.”

Vehicles in the car park should follow the onsite signage and park nose-in to allow the row system to work efficiently.

Bundaberg Show runs from Wednesday 31 May to Friday 2 June 2023.

Tickets are available online or at the gate.

  1. As long there are spaces for rear loading vehicles/buses carrying wheelchairs would be great like the ones in the CBD so they can be offloaded to enjoy the show the ones in the city need to be policed more so that the people and vehicles who need to use them can use them otherwise where else can we offload safely???
