Commercial space approved for aviation precinct

Aviation precinct development
A large commercial space is set for development in the Bundaberg Regional Aviation and Aerospace Precinct.

A large commercial space featuring offices, showrooms and room for food outlets will be constructed in the region's aviation precinct after a development application was approved by Bundaberg Regional Council.

Applicant Dandelion Projects has detailed that the development involves a vacant site at 15 Aviation Crescent, Kensington, to be utilised to facilitate future commercial and industrial uses.

The site is currently made up of vacant land in the Bundaberg Regional Aviation and Aerospace Precinct, an 11-hectare multi-stage master planned industrial development adjoining the Bundaberg Regional Airport.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is located directly south-west of the site and the Bundaberg Regional Council Airport is located 100 metres south of the subject site.

Once constructed, the site will include a large commercial building that will allow for five future tenants, plus 22 parking spaces with one designated disabled parking bay.

Each of the five sections of the building will feature:

  • warehouse (ground floor)
  • office (ground floor)
  • toilet (ground floor)
  • office (first floor level)
  • warehouse/mezzanine store (first floor level)

  1. I think we need a website with all the businesses in our region on it & information on what they offer with all this development it’s getting difficult to keep track of what options we have.

  2. Has this development been approved by CASA ?Will it create man made turbulence and possible wind shear? (Section c NASF). Also has the proposed hospital plans been shown to CASA ? It is only 500 mts.from the threshold of 32. Under section c the 1 in 35 rule applies. This position is not suitable for a hospital. I don’t know of any hospital in Australia that is 500mts. from the threshold of a main runway. The noise and safety issues have not been discussed publicly yet!
