Save the date on Saturday 9 December for new event Christmas in the Precinct held as part of the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Appeal, incorporating Mumma’s Nest markets and a concert.

This exciting new addition to Bundaberg Regional Council’s Christmas events calendar will provide fun and merriment for the whole family, starting at 2pm and celebrating on into the evening.

Free entry means the event at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct can be enjoyed by the whole community.

National and local performers will provide a stellar musical lineup from 6pm, with the headliners to be announced in November.

Mumma’s Nest Markets will partner with Council to host their annual Christmas market as part of the event.

Mumma’s Nest organiser Hannah Jacobs said the Christmas market would offer a wide variety of stalls, with something for everyone to enjoy and discover.

“We are excited to present our markets at the Pavilion as part of the Council’s Christmas spectacular event,” Hannah said.

“I would encourage everyone to come along to the Mumma’s Nest Christmas Markets at the Christmas spectacular event because it's not just a market; it's a chance to come together, support local businesses, and share in the Christmas spirit while enjoying a wonderful open-air Christmas concert.

“Charity has always been a big component of Mumma's Nest and this collaboration allows us to help raise funds for The Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Appeal.”

Alongside the market stalls, amusement rides and food vendors will add to the festive feeling at Christmas in the Precinct.

Young and old will be delighted by the live reindeer, who may even put in a good word with Santa for the region’s children.

Mayor Jack Dempsey said the event was shaping up to be a magical Christmas experience.

“What better way to celebrate our family, friends and the wonderful Bundaberg Region’s community than with a free family concert at Christmas,” he said.

“I encourage everyone to come along to join in the fun and experience the joy of the holiday season.”

Stallholders who want to be considered for inclusion in the Mumma’s Nest markets should contact mummasnest@outlook.com to join the mailing list, with applications open from 1 October.

Expressions of interest for vendors for Council Christmas events are open until Friday 13 October.

Council’s full Christmas program will be announced in November.
