Free Summer Sundays concerts
Summer Sundays a free event featuring live music and food stalls, is coming to the region's beaches this January.

Live music and food stalls will add to the appeal of the sand and summer sun on the region’s beaches this January as Council launches new, free event Summer Sundays.

Infused with the spirit of summer Bundaberg Regional Council has announced the exciting event which will be free for all to attend.

Locals and visitors alike will find increased enjoyment in some of the Bundaberg Region’s beautiful beaches each Sunday throughout January as live music and food stalls pop up along the coast.

Summer Sundays will ensure Elliott Heads, Bargara, Burnett Heads and Moore Park Beach each has a turn to shine and come alive with an array of music and stalls as the free concert moves to a new location each week throughout January.

Bundaberg Mayor Jack Dempsey said the Bundaberg Region embodied a picture-perfect climate and an idyllic lifestyle which was the perfect background for Council’s newest event.

“Our foreshores are gems in our community and what better way to utilise them than by bringing people together through music,” Mayor Dempsey said.

“Summer Sundays is more than just a series of concerts – it's a celebration of our community's vibrancy and an opportunity to celebrate together.

“I encourage friends and family to come together to welcome in 2024 throughout January and enjoy an afternoon by our picturesque beaches listening to free live music.”

Summer Sundays will feature headline musicians including Kyle Lionheart, Bondi Cigars, Steph Strings and Felipe Baldomir.

These headline acts will be supported by Meleane Havea, Change Po Ching, Abby Skye and Harii Bandhu.

Cr Learmonth said the range of local foreshores would provide a stunning setting for families and friends to gather and enjoy an afternoon of music under the open sky.

“This wonderful new initiative aims to bring live music and community gatherings to our scenic local foreshores each Sunday throughout the month of January,” he said.

“Summer Sundays will have community members relaxing by the seaside enjoying the summer atmosphere.

“I am looking forward to sharing the joy of music with our community.

“It's a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, relax, and appreciate the incredible spirit we have right here in Bundaberg.”
