Summer Sundays Bargara artist Q&A

The next event in the line-up for Council’s free, live beachside concerts takes place at Schuhkraft Park in Bargara this weekend, featuring the soulful sounds of Kyle Lionhart and Chang Po Ching.

The community is invited to make the most of summer on the region’s beautiful beaches at the series of Summer Sundays concerts held every Sunday in January.

These family friendly events will be hosted at Bargara on 14 January, Burnett Heads on 21 January and Moore Park Beach on 28 January from 2 to 5 pm.

Locals and visitors alike can soak up the sun, enjoy some live music and grab a bite from one of the food stalls available.

What is your music style?

 A mix folk, blues, country and soul

What do you enjoy most about performing at events like Summer Sundays?

The people, these event always draw an eclectic crowd and I love playing these events because you never quite know how the audience will respond.

What can audiences expect from your Summer Sundays performance?

This is a tough question to answer but I know this much about my performances – I leave nothing on the table, I always give everything I’ve got and so I’ll do the only thing I know how to do which is to put a better show on than my last.

Have you been to the Bundaberg Region before?

I haven’t, I’m genuinely pumped to come up there.

Not sure what I should do so if you’re reading this and you see me tell me what I should visit and where I should go.

What are you looking forward to experiencing while visiting in January?

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to go visit the Bundaberg factory.

What is your favourite way to spend a summer Sunday?

At home by the beach, surfing, playing music, having BBQ’s and watching sunsets.

What is your ultimate summer song?

Lovely Day by Bill Withers.

What is your music style?

My music style is a mix of soul and R ‘n B.

What do you enjoy most about performing at events like Summer Sundays?

I like events like these because of the vibe, everyone’s relaxed and wants to have a good time.

What can audiences expect from your Summer Sundays performance?

People can expect some soulful tunes and even some singalongs for them to tap along to.

Have you been to the Bundaberg Region before?

I’ve never been before but I’m excited to visit.

What are you looking forward to experiencing while visiting in January?

I’m looking forward to experiencing Bundy for the first time.

What is your favourite way to spend a summer Sunday?

I love to spend a summer Sunday relaxing with family and friends.

What is your ultimate summer song?

My favourite summer tune is Shout by the Isley Brothers.
