Bundaberg Regional Council’s Autumn school holiday guide is full of egg-cellent activities for the whole family to enjoy these Easter school holidays.

Scavenger hunt

Friends and families can hop on over to the Hinkler Hall of Aviation and join in the fun of the Great Botanic Garden’s Scavenger Hunt.

Scavengers can collect a hunt question sheet with the first 200 participants to return the sheet answered correctly receiving a prize.

Free school holiday movie

For movie lovers, the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre will offer a free school holiday screening of the action-packed DreamWorks Animation’s film Trolls Band Together.

Families can relax in the comfort of the theatre, whilst enjoying Trolls’ signature mix of new and classic pop hits, starring a dazzling cast of musical superstars and comedic powerhouses.

Library activities

Gin Gin, Childers and Bundaberg Libraries have a diverse range of activities and events to delight young library lovers.

Activities include making an ocean rainbow fish, scratch board mandala, Tic Tac Toe board game, wooden bookmarks and egg carton faces.

The board games and Lego fun sessions will also be a hit for holiday makers.

Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery will be hosting four special holiday workshops exploring the current Imaginarts exhibition, The Castle of Tarragindi on Tour.

Developed by Australian artist Natalya Hughes in collaboration with the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), The Castle of Tarragindi on Tour invites gallery visitors to create their own digital hybrid creature, decorate and assemble a 3D object, make elaborate patterns using printed paper, and take part in self-portrait drawing activities.

Easter school holiday outdoor adventures

There are also variety of outdoor activities on offer for holiday goers to enjoy the beautiful Autumn weather.

Zoo Keeper Talks

The popular Zoo Keeper Talks will allow children to meet and discover more about the Alexandra Park Zoo animals.

Rockpool Rambles

Families can enjoy some coastline rock-hopping through the Rockpool Ramble events, exploring the diversity of creatures which inhabit our rocky shore.

Pop-Up Story Play

Gin Gin Recreational Reserve will be the location for the Pop-Up Story Play at the park session, where families are encouraged to bring a picnic rug to enjoy stories, songs, play and craft.

Those who want to make the most of the last of the warm weather can also enjoy the local swimming pools before they close over the winter months.
