Free movies to promote disaster preparedness

This May residents can get ready for free screenings of two epic portrayals of significant events and ‘Get Ready’ for disaster events at the same time!

Bundaberg Regional Council’s disaster management team will be hosting the free movie events to raise awareness around disaster preparedness.

Movie goers can look forward to an evening of nostalgia with screenings of the 1996 classic Twister and the iconic film Titanic.

There will also be a few surprises and giveaways throughout the events.

Twister (PG)

Starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, the 1996 classic follows storm chasers on the brink of divorce who must come together to create an advanced weather alert system but putting themselves in the firing line of extreme tornadoes.

When: Friday 10 May, 6.30 pm

Where: Moncrieff Entertainment Centre

Cost: Free but bookings are essential

Titanic (M)

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, this blockbuster follows the love story of Jack and Rose aboard the ill-fated voyage of the R.M.S Titanic.

When: Saturday 18 May, 3.30 pm

Where: Paragon Theatre, Childers

Cost: Free but bookings are essential
