The annual Welcome Baby Celebration is back with registrations now open for the newest members of the Bundaberg Region.

This popular free community event will once again take place in conjunction with Flourish Family Fun Day on 27 June and aims to create a safe space for new families to connect and find out more about the local services and businesses available to them.

Registrations are now open for parents of children who will be 15 months old or younger on the day of the event and the registrations will close at 5 pm on 20 June.

Participants will receive a ‘Baby Loves Bundaberg’ pack which includes a native Golden Penda plant, which is Bundaberg’s floral emblem, a book to start their baby’s reading journey and a signed certificate from the Mayor of Bundaberg.

Bundaberg Mayor Helen Blackburn said she encouraged all parents of eligible children to register and join in the celebration.

“This well-loved event is always a highlight on the community calendar and promises to be once again this year,” Mayor Blackburn said.

“Last year’s Flourish Family Fun Day attracted 42 stallholders and nearly 4000 visitors, including the newest members of our region as part of the Welcome Baby Celebration.

“It is a wonderful way to introduce them to the community they will grow up to be a part of.”
