
As excitement builds for Bundaberg’s New Year’s Eve celebration on Tuesday 31 December, here’s some things you might like to know before you go.
Do you require a ticket to attend?
Bundaberg Regional Council’s New Year’s Eve celebrations are free and you do not require a ticket to attend.
What times are the fireworks?
Fireworks displays will be at 8 pm and midnight.
There will be entertainment, rides and food vendors in Lions Park, Bundaberg North from 6.30 pm to midnight.
Road closures
Burnett Bridge will be closed to vehicles on Tuesday 31 December from 7.45 to 8.15 pm and 11.45 pm to 12.15 am Wednesday 1 January.
Pedestrian access across Burnett Bridge will be via the pedestrian walkway only.
There will be no pedestrian access to the roadway of the Burnett Bridge.
Exclusion zone for boats
Boats will not be permitted on the Burnett River between Burnett Bridge and Tallon Bridge from 4 pm Tuesday 31 December to 12.30 am Wednesday 1 January.
Access to the Lions Park boat ramp will be closed from 6 pm Monday 30 December to 2 am Wednesday 1 January.
Toilets
Extra toilet facilities will be provided in Lions Park.
Parking
Limited car parking will be available on grassed areas of Lions Park, accessible from Perry Street.
Traffic controllers will be in attendance to direct vehicles to designated parking areas.
There will be a designated disabled parking area off Queen Street.
Attendees can also park on the south side of the Burnett River and access the event via the pedestrian bridge.
Pets
We discourage pets attending the celebrations due to the large crowds and fireworks.
Is the event wheelchair friendly?
Disabled parking and toilets will be available.
Is alcohol allowed?
This is an alcohol-free event.
