Community are invited to share their stories about East Water Tower.

East Water Tower has been a significant visual landmark in Bundaberg for over 100 years, and many people in the community have strong ties to the iconic structure.

Council is inviting community members, former workers and visitors to share their stories of East Water Tower as part of the conservation management plan for the site.

Constructed in 1902, East Water Tower is the tallest circular brick water tower remaining in Queensland and was a key element in Bundaberg’s first reticulated water system.

The community’s personal stories and memories will help Council to understand and celebrate the tower’s importance to the social history of the Bundaberg Region.

Once collected, Councill will share selected stories with the wider community, to continue the East Water Tower story into the next century.

Read more about the East Water Tower and submit your story on the Our Bundaberg Region project page.
