Aquatic centre fees adopted as project progresses

The entry costs were adopted in the 29 April Ordinary Meeting within the Fees and Charges schedule for 2025-2026.

The entry costs for the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre have been revealed as Bundaberg Regional Council gears up for the facility’s open date later this year.

The entry costs were adopted in the 29 April Ordinary Meeting within the Fees and Charges schedule for 2025-2026.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said Council looked forward to sharing more detail with the community when it was in a position to announce the successful tenderer for the management of the new aquatic centre.

“We’re continuing to finalise contract negotiations for a qualified manager with experience operating a significant facility like the Bundaberg Aquatic Centre,” Mayor Blackburn said.

The standard admission fees include:

Adult: $7
Pensioner/Concession: $6
Veterans/Service Personnel: $6
Child: $5.50 (children under 3 free)
Family swim (admits four swimmers): $18
Spectator (adult): $1.50
Spectator (child): $0.50

The entry costs were adopted in the 29 April Ordinary Meeting within the Fees and Charges schedule for 2025-2026.

Session, pool hire, membership and activities fees have also been detailed.

“These fees are geared towards recognising the facility for its high standard when it comes to rehabilitation and competition while keeping it as affordable as possible.

“We look forward to providing the community with more details about the fee structure when the management contract is in place.”

She said while recent wet weather was likely to delay the opening of the aquatic centre the facility’s construction was progressing well and Council expected its opening was just months away.

The facility’s construction is progressing well.

  1. What a rip of then it will cost big time for food it will be to dear to go swimming

  2. Great!
The Council is forcing pensioners to choose between exercise at the aquatic centre or one social outing for a coffee each fortnight. I guess we can’t have it both ways.

  3. Without a set Monthly or yearly membership this will be totally useless.
If someone wishes to train 6 days a week, it will cost $168 a Month.
Such a disappointment and destined to be a total White Elephant.
Can`t Councils ever get things right?

  4. What was wrong with the old Anzac pool? This is more corporation take over. Pay for everything. Out of control.

  5. I think the pensioner/concession rate of $6 is a bit high, considering normal adult is $7, it should be at least half, or even a local should not pay full price, please reconsider these pricings.

  6. And the final cost? $100 million? There should be an investigation into how it went from $40 million, to now $90 million plus, that probably less than 10% of the public here will ever use. You can build a multi storey five star resort for far less. And, I’ll guarantee that within 6 months there’ll be cracks in it.

  7. World class wave pools cost as much as this sinkhole. And would have attracted tourists to the area. The 10 million dollar skate park built in the dark near a pub.(???) should also be in this area. but like previously stated ” councils just cant get it right. and what happens if you dont wanna pay into this pool of privelage, they take ya house. Does this represent us or rule over us.

  8. My account awaiting modetation. Sound familiar fellow posters. This is tyranny at work. What freedom of speech. Are the readers all aware that ” bundy Now is a council publication. Other places where government control the media its called propoganda. We here about the Chinese or Russian tyranny by censoring the people. and controlling the narrative . Watch this space

  9. Ive posted twice and both have been censored . no swearing. no hate just sharing some facts. but no …no freedom of speech allowed.

  10. Gladstone City Council first class. Allow Free 1 hour access to the 25metre heated pool in the morning for “Oldies ” to walk or swim laps. Now that’s what I call a great Community minded Council.

  11. I can’t believe the number of sad, whiny people commenting. If you got nothing you would complain. You get something, you complain. Might be time to take some happy pills to stop you moaning about everything.

  12. Hi this is Pam just wandering if there’s gonna be heated pool in this new pool that’s about to finish soon. I just read info about it that’s all

  13. Hi this is Pam just wandering if there’s gonna be heated pool in this new pool that’s about to finish soon. I just read info about it that’s all also will there be any social swimming at new pool if you don’t wanna do any laps of pool

  14. Noraville pool is an excellent facility and is only $5 Bundaberg has 2 option just go there. Shires all over Australia are the same you put money in and nothing comes out

  15. Seems fine to me it’s only bad if you want to swim alot. The extra cost might even deter some undesirables away from using the facility.

  16. Guys scroll down… theres’s a small discount if you book 10 sessions or 25 sessions.

There is a larger discount for training in the ATHLETICS FACILITY

    Casual training members $4.20
    Casual training – non-members $5.70
Season Pass Training – members (September to April) $213
Season Pass Training – non-members (September to April) $344
Yearly Pass Training – members Only $279

Note the members fee is substantial at $17.50/week or $39.95/week
You might be better off buying non members season pass or sticking to Norville.

  17. Rockhampton Qlympic Standard pool with fantastic slide area for children cost everybody $3.50 to enter and is open all year round. This is a total rip off. Back to Norville Pool I go.
