Public consultation open for Planning Scheme Policy

Proposed changes to Bundaberg Regional Council's Planning Scheme Policy for Development Works is now open to public consultation.

According to Planning and Development portfolio spokesperson Cr Ross Sommerfeld, the policy provides a uniform standard for development works within the Council area.

“It facilitates new works through clearly defining relevant industry standards, policy, engineering assessment requirements and acceptable engineering solutions,” Cr Sommerfeld said.

“We are now seeking public consultation on proposed changes which will bring the policy in line with current industry standards and where possible, improve development assessment efficiency through procedural changes.”

Cr Sommerfeld said amendments to the policy would greatly improve aspects such as flood study requirements, operational works procedures and more.

“We urge anyone interested to come along to the public information session to be held on 20 March from 4 pm to 5 pm at Bundaberg Regional Council on Bourbong Street,” he said.

Public consultation will be open from 11 March to 18 April 2019.

A copy of the proposed amendment and supporting material is available for inspection and purchase at Council’s Planning and Development counter upstairs at the Bundaberg Administration Centre.
