Two free waste disposal vouchers will once again be delivered with Bundaberg Regional Council residential rate notices this month.

Rate notices will be issued on Tuesday 30 July for payment by Monday 2 September.

Waste and Recycling portfolio spokesperson Cr Rowleson said residents should check rate notice envelopes before discarding to ensure the vouchers weren’t accidentally missed.

“Each voucher, issued to the owner of a residential property with their rates notice, entitles the resident to dispose of one load of self-hauled domestic mixed waste or domestic green waste at any Council waste facility,” Cr Rowleson said.

“Residents can then take advantage of free waste disposal at a time and day that suits them within the financial year of issue.

“You simply present the voucher at your local waste facility where the validity of the voucher and the load will be assessed.

“The vouchers do not allow for the dumping of tyres, mattresses or asbestos related materials. Commercial waste is also excluded.”

Cr Rowleson said the vouchers were not transferable to other properties and could not be redeemed for payment of other Council services.

“We are calling on landlords or property managers to ensure tenants can access these free vouchers. Anyone renting a property within the region should request the vouchers from landlords.

“Any ratepayers who receive their rate notice electronically will receive their waste vouchers separately in the mail.”

Cr Rowleson urged residents to check all of the information supplied before disposing of any of the materials encased in the rates notice envelope.

“Unfortunately lost or expired vouchers will not be replaced.”

  1. I see in the banner the vouchers are attached.
    They are well hidden.
I can’t find them in this article

  2. We do not live in beautiful Bundaberg, but own land in Bundy and regularly mow, trim hedges and trees but we have never received waste vouchers. We pay to dump our small amount of green waste. It would be great if all landholders (residential block) could get the vouchers.
