Bundaberg artist and illustrator Jane Marin is a finalist for the Most Inspirational Y 2019 YAward after being featured in national women’s magazine YMag.

Jane was nominated for her work in the arts, running Jaaneman Art and Wattle Cottage Art and Wellbeing Centre.

Created by Australia’s leading women’s empowerment magazine YMag, the YAwards aims to celebrate, encourage and recognise successful and aspiring women in business across Australia from industry leaders to young start-ups.

Jane said she was excited to be named a finalist in the Most Inspirational Y.

She said the women nominated had overcome adversity to create their best possible life.

“I was so excited to be nominated in this category,” Jane said.

“Being an artist, it’s very hard to be recognised as a business, but my passion is to help women find their joy through creativity and the creative arts.

“There are some truly inspirational women in this category and it is such an honour to be included amongst them.

“I am looking forward to meeting them at the end of September at the YFactor Conference and Gala Awards Night.”

YMag’s CEO & Founder Shar Moore is passionate about providing opportunities for women living their Y to be showcased and profiled nationally in Australia and the YAwards is another medium for achieving this.

She said she had been overwhelmed by the response to this year’s awards.

“Nothing gives me greater joy than hearing stories of passionate and determined women who are forging ahead for future generations,” Shar said.

“These are women who are empowered to go out and do what they love and so we want to give them the recognition that they so rightly deserve.”

There are eight categories plus two overall awards decided by judges – these are based on submissions.

Winners will be announced during a two-day YFactor Experience at the Hilton Gold Coast. A gala dinner will be held on Saturday, September 28. Three awards will be presented per category – Bronze, Silver and Gold. The winners will share in $5,000 worth of prizes.
