Kyle Hancock from Kavs Wildlife Services bags a brown snake while an emu was watching.

It's not every day an emu watches Bundaberg snake catcher Kyle Hancock at work but that's what happened on Friday.

Attending a job at Goodwood, Kyle from Kavs Wildlife Services was surprised to have a large feathered observer.

“These guys had moved into the house and the emu was walking around the paddock but dehydrated,” he told Bundaberg Now.

“So they offered it a drink and now it’s become friendly and stayed on their block.”

An eastern brown snake was reported in a garden shed. The emu watched as Kav went about his work.

“I had an emu watching on as an eastern brown snake was relocated from a garden shed at Woodgate Road,” he said on Facebook.

“To be honest the feathered mate was friendly enough. It would have probably come and helped me find the brown in the shed if I let it but for safety reasons it was closed out of the yard.”
