Childers’ first ever car and dog wash development was given the green light by Bundaberg Regional Council earlier this week.
The business features a car and dog wash attached to a hardware store on Butchers Road in Childers, just off the Bruce Highway.
On behalf of his client, Nathan Freeman of Insite SJC stated previously the proposed development would feature two buildings to house the facilities.
“The proposal involves the construction of a new car wash with four manual wash bays, one detail bay and one dog wash,” he said.
“It also includes a hardware and trade supplies/showroom for the sale and hire of large hardware and trade equipment.”
Mr Freeman said the development would be of high-quality architectural design that complemented the character of the area.
He said the business would operate in Childers from 8am to 7pm, seven days per week.
“The applicant anticipates that a maximum of five people would be employed,” Mr Freeman said.
The car and dog wash facility is the first of its kind in the Childers area and will be situated near a recently upgraded intersection along Butchers Road and the Bruce Highway.
Construction of the car and dog wash and hardware store will begin next year.
