Felise Kaufusi and Coen Hess, both hailing from the Bundaberg Region, were named in the Queensland State of Origin squad ahead of the Maroons Fan Day in Bundaberg tomorrow.
The 20-man squad was announced today as was Townsville as the location to host the State of Origin Series opener on June 9.
Before they hit the field, players and legends will hit the streets of Bundaberg for the Maroons Fan Day.
The Multiplex will be transformed with a carnival-like atmosphere tomorrow, June 1, for the event.
Legends of the game Sam Thaiday, Darius Boyd, Matt Gillett, Petero Civoniceva and Corey Parker, along with coach Paul Green, have also been confirmed to attend the event.
The fun starts at 9 am and continues until 2 pm with live entertainment, free rides, food vendors and a street parade.
Due to road closures, free shuttle busses will travel from various locations around Bundaberg on 30-minute loops from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm.
Event goers are encouraged to take advantage of the free shuttle bus service for direct access and to avoid parking delays.
Tina Turner impressionist Rebecca O’Conner, bands and stalls will be part of the morning’s festivities as fans are given access to chat to and take photographs with the league legends.
The fan day is free to attend but registration is essential. Register for the fan day here.
