Oporto approved for Bundaberg

Oporto Bundaberg approved
An application has been lodged for an Oporto development in Bundaberg.

Portuguese chicken specialist Oporto will be satisfying hungry locals when a Bundaberg store is constructed along 29a Takalvan Street.

A development application for the takeaway outlet was recently approved by Bundaberg Regional Council, with the site to feature a drive through and parking for up to 13 vehicles.

The area is currently made up of vacant land and in the vicinity of local businesses including Jaycar Electronics and MC Cycles.

Once constructed, Oporto's operational hours will be between 9 am to 10 pm, seven days a week.

A number of architectural features make up the development including a contemporary building design with landscaping.

Oporto is known for its Portuguese flame-grilled chicken and burgers and was first established by founder Antonio Cerqueira in 1986 from a small chicken shop in North Bondi.

Today, there are 180 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Oporto is one of many developments to be approved in the Bundaberg Region recently.

Others included a child care centre in Walkervale and Red Rooster in Bundaberg East.
