Wednesday 13 September 2023 –
Mens Day: Social paddle pop draw triples as per usual and as well as these games we had the Final of the Open Mens Triples and our Ladies went to GinGin for the final round of the division three pennant.

Mens Competition First:
Team Cornish, last years winners, got off to a slow start with team Byrnes going out to a comfortable lead until the seventeenth end with the score on 23/8 team Byrnes didn’t move for five ends allowing team Cornish to edge closer.
The score sat at 23/18 before team Byrnes kicked in again and ran on to win 31/24. I’m told the man behind to surge at the end of the game was our super Veteran Robbie Royan whose shots set up the head for his team to build on.
Congratulations to both teams on reaching the Final in what is a hotly contested event.
Team Byrnes: Robbie Royan, Rowdy Taylor, Robbie Byrnes
Team Cornish: Ian Goodhew, Stephen Cole, Brian Cornish
Special thanks to Rob Anderson who was our Umpire for the day.

Ladies Pennant:
Today our two Ladies division three teams travelled to GinGin to play the return game.
After both Woodgate teams recording wins on Tuesday, the GinGin Ladies came out firing and had wins in both games.
Team one went down 23/14 and team two 20/19 to record an overall loss of 10, however because of previous wins Woodgate will play in the final next week.
Team One: Karen Henderson, Jacquie Rogerson, Gail Lenz, Meredith Taylor
Team Two: Yvonne Turner, Lesley Christensen, Robyn Bishop, Doreen Ensbey

Special thanks to Suzanne Weir our manager, Hazel Cornish our coach, Jacquie Rogerson our bus driver and the Woodgate Club for the use of the bus.
Social Mens rink draw winners:
Rink 6, Pairs game. Tiger Feltham, Gol Lowe
Runners Up, Rink 14: Rod Sauls, Gordon Ibbertson, Archie Bishop
Encouragement, Rink 13: Peter, Christo, George Weir.

Thursday 14 September 2023 –
Billy’s Day: Social paddle pop draw triples with a game in the Mens B Grade Pairs, between Dean Kulbars and John Robinson playing Weiner Hass and Col Ensby. A convincing win to Team Robbo over Team Ensbey in this the first round of the B Grade Pairs.
Well done Col Ensbey picking up new bowler Weiner, giving him an introduction to the competition arena.
Rink draw winners:
Rink 10: Competition game.
Dean Kulbars, Robbo
Runners Up, Rink 12: Dave Wahoo, Linda Hannah, Rob Hannah

Saturday 16 September 2023 –
Self select pairs with a game in the Open Mixed Fours Competition:
Competition Game between Team Bishop and Team Taylor.
Team Taylor got off to a very slow start not putting a score on the card until the ninth end when the score sat at 14/2!
However once started they then found their rhythm with a five on end twelve to put them back into the game the score being 15/10.
The score limped along for both teams with only ones or twos recorded until the final score of 23/15 to team Bishop!
Special thanks to Rob Anderson who stood as Umpire for the day.
Team Bishop: Judy Stanley, Wayne Stanley, Robyn Bishop, Archie Bishop
Team Taylor: Ian Goodhew, Cheryl Goodhew, Meredith Taylor, Rowdy Taylor.
Rink draw winners:
Rink 12: Linda Hannah, Robbie Hannah

The Jackpot went off today, four lucky bowlers shared in 300 lovely dollars!
