Residents can tune in tomorrow to dive into the Bundaberg Region’s arts, culture and natural beauty as Milbi Festival is showcased in the nation’s living rooms on travel show Weekender.
Screening Sunday 22 October at 5.30 pm just days before the launch of the 2023 Milbi Festival next Friday, the segment will highlight the 10-day festival’s hero events and experiences from this year’s program.
The episode was filmed in region as part of a collaboration between Bundaberg Regional Council and Bundaberg Tourism.
Hosted by presenter and tourism advocate Chris Parsons, Weekender is all about sharing the very best of coastal, country and urban destinations with great characters, fabulous food and memorable experiences to a total of 1,634,000 viewers every week.
After airing in Queensland, the stories will be televised nationally the following week.
Watching the Weekender episode will be the perfect opportunity for viewers at home to get a small taste of what’s on offer for the festival.
Bundaberg Tourism CEO Katherine Reid said the organisation had worked closely with Bundaberg Regional Council to showcase the 10-day Milbi Festival to Weekender audiences aiming to stimulate interest towards a holiday in the Bundaberg Region.
While in region Weekender also captured content to showcase Macadamias Australia and Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort, set to air in separate episodes.
“As a smaller regional tourism organisation, the investment of coverage like this is not possible without our partnerships,” Katherine said.
“The region is so fortunate to have the strong collaboration with Bundaberg Regional Council and the enthusiastic contribution from Macadamias Australia and Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort to make this happen for the region.”
