There are plenty of reasons to make merry with the 2023 Christmas program featuring a concert headlined by Marina Prior and the return of Pageant of Lights.

Christmas season celebrations are once again set to feature a number of key Bundaberg Regional Council events, complimented by community-led celebrations.

There are 28 events in total for the 2023 Christmas program spanning right up until 22 December.

Mayor Jack Dempsey said the Christmas season would be officially launched on Thursday 30 November with the return of Pageant of Lights.

“We’ve had plenty of feedback from residents about how excited they are to enjoy Pageant of Lights once again this year,” Mayor Dempsey said.

“It’s a special and traditional celebration of the festive season for our community.

“It will also mark the official turning on of the Christmas lights and we hope that Santa will be able to take some time out from his busy schedule to come and help us celebrate.

“I would encourage everyone to come together for the launch of the 2023 Christmas program at Pageant of Lights.”

Bundaberg Regional Council Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said Christmas in the Precinct was Council’s exciting new addition to the program.

“This new event will be fun for the whole family as we partner with Mumma’s Nest Markets and deliver a concert headlined by Marina Prior,” Cr Learmonth said.

“A range of national and local performers will be featured on the day including The Diamonds and Ricki-Lee.

“Kicking off in the early afternoon there will be something for everyone at Christmas in the Precinct.”
