State Pennant Finals – Day 1 Bargara Ladies defeated by Hervey Bay in Game 1 and defeated Northern Suburbs in Game 2. Bargara Men defeated by Pialba in Game 1 and by Pine Rivers in Game 2. Day 2 Rain washed out play, the decision was made to play the Finals between the top 4 teams as at Saturday end of play. The Finals were played under cover on the indoor Green at Tweed Heads.

Tuesday Nov 7 Open Pairs Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12 pm, green fees paid by 12.45 pm for a 1 pm start.
Wednesday: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – this is a fun game of Singles similar to consistency singles where points are allocated to the 4 closest bowls to the jack. Games are played over 12 ends with no driving allowed. Names in by 6.15 pm with games starting at 6.30 pm. Green fees are $10 with 50 percent of the green fees being returned as prize money. All ability levels are welcome so come along for a fun night out.
Thursday: ‘Social Thursday’ Open Pairs (Men’s, Ladies, Mixed). Names in by 2.15 pm as games will commence at 2.30 pm. Play till 4.30 pm with 2 random lucky draws as prizes.
Thursday: Night Bowls – bowls start at 6.30 pm, names in by 6 pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot which will be $70+ this week. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made to feel very welcome.

The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night at 7 pm. The Member’s Draw was not won last week and will now be $150, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.
Live entertainment for this Friday night will be by “BODZ ROCK-N – RYTHM” and the following Friday, live music will be delivered by” THE OTHER BLOKE” Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.

A game in the Mens B Triples and social pairs as usual. Greg Madsen emerged victorious in the B Singles with a win over Garry Willoughby. Thanks to Brian Cornish who was the marker for the match. In the Mens Triples team Nelson had a win over team Bishop.

Sunday 5 November:
Big day today on our green, the B Grade Men’s Final, a game in the mixed fours and social bowls as well! B Grade final between Greg Madsen and Trevor Christensen. A hard fought match resulting in a win to Greg Madsen 28/20. Greg put the first points on the card on end one however it was up and down from there on in!
Christo took the lead on end 6 with a 4 and held it until end 12 when the lead changed to 14/13 to Greg who then edged ahead to hold a lead of 24/20 on end 24.
It was then a go for broke situation which went to Greg who took a 4 on end 25 to take the win 28/20. Thanks to President Wayne Stanley who as tradition dictates marked the final, and Archie Bishop who stood as Umpire for the day.
The Mixed Fours resulted in a win to Team Cornish against Team Stranio.
