Locals of the Bundaberg Region can glide, fly and be inspired these school holidays with special rates into the Hinkler Hall of Aviation.

Children and adults alike will be amazed by the accomplishments of Bundaberg’s pioneer aviator, Bert Hinkler, as they traverse through the many static and interactive displays within the soaring exhibition hall.

Hinkler’s incredible life story is told through numerous story boards, diorama, movie theatrettes, flight and glide simulators, an impressive restored Armstong Siddeley vehicle, original and replica aircraft and of course, his relocated English home, Hinkler House.

Bundaberg Region Mayor Jack Dempsey said you only have to look as far as the reviews on travel sites like TripAdvisor to find ample reasons to visit this fascinating museum and tourist attraction.

“With 359 five-star ratings shouting words like ‘great museum’, ‘amazing fun’, ‘well worth a visit’ and ‘best museum that we’ve been to in Queensland so far’, I encourage everyone in the Bundaberg Region to find out what all the fuss is about,” he said.

“The Hinkler Hall of Aviation offers special rates for locals and also provides the opportunity for one free local entry when taking two paying adult or senior visitors through the hall.”

Full details of the local entry rates and ambassador deal can be found here.

The Hinkler Hall of Aviation is open 9 am to 3 pm, seven days a week, excluding closure on Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day.

Public holiday trading hours are from 10 am to 3 pm.
