Members of the Bundaberg 4WD Club headed to their club’s campsite, on a private property on the banks of the Kolan River, to celebrate the end of what has been yet another fun filled year of off roading and social activities.
A drive out on the properties tracks gave some four wheel driving practice, with a few washouts to be negotiated.
The recent storms saw numerous trees down across the tracks.
The group removed the fallen trees to help the property owner access the more remote spots he rarely gets to.
The crowd ushered in the new year with various games to keep them amused well into the night.
Cooking around the campfire also had some quality meals served to share with the group.
With storms over the campout weekend members did all they could to shelter from the rains and then make the most of the fine weather dispersed between them.
Kayaks got used to explore the waterway, with many other floating devices used to relax in the river and escape the intense heat and humidity.
Camping in such conditions certainly brings out the hardy participants.
The start of a New Year has plenty of activities planned with our trip calendar starting to fill up with abundant events to keep us out of the house.
