Celebrating Bundaberg Legacy’s 75th anniversary, and Legacy Australia centenary, the Band of 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery will present a special fundraising concert at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre.

Monies raised from the concert will assist Bundaberg Legacy to continue the day to day running of its program.

Bundaberg Legacy is there in times of loss and grief, providing ongoing social support to local families. They work to ensure the emotional health and wellbeing of those they serve.

Bundaberg Legacy president Len Gordon said Bundaberg Legacy supported the families of veterans who had given their life or health in the defence of Australia.

“We cover an area from Agnes Waters and 1770 in the north to Howard in the south and from the beaches to Mount Perry,” Len said.

“Bundaberg Legacy has over 400 widows and 10 children in our area.

“All funds go towards the socialisation programs and care of our beneficiaries.

“This is a once in a lifetime event as the Army band does not normally do concerts such as this.”

The Band of the 1st Regiment Royal, Australian Artillery entertained the Childers Festival crowd at last year’s event.

Comprising of Army Reserve members, all of whom are highly skilled musicians and soldiers, the band regularly performs at military parades, ceremonies, concerts and public events.

The Band of the 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery will be performing a variety of music during the concert.

From Military Marches and classic wind ensemble repertoire to swinging Big Band tunes.

There will be popular compositions with vocals and a tribute to our men and women in uniform.

Young and old alike, there will be something for everybody and the audience are guaranteed to have their toes tapping.
