Bundaberg Region travellers can now seamlessly access more destinations across the country thanks to a codeshare agreement between Virgin Australia and Link Airways.
The new codeshare agreement means locals and visitors can fly between Bundaberg to places including Adelaide, Broome, Sydney, Canberra, Cairns and others, via Brisbane, through the one booking.
Codeshare flights between the two airlines are available through Virgin Australia’s website, with thousands of seats already sold since the partnership was announced in January and made available through travel agencies.
Bundaberg to Brisbane flights have been popular with the new agreement, which provides travel to 41 destinations across the country on a single booking, with through check-in and baggage transfer.
Virgin Australia Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer Alistair Hartley said travellers would enjoy a seamless and efficient service.
“The sky’s the limit now for so many regional Australians wanting better connectivity between home and the rest of our great country,” he said.
“We know our customers in regional Australia want this service, having already sold thousands of seats via travel agents since we announced the partnership in January.
“I can confirm that Bundaberg to Brisbane return is our most popular route so far under this new partnership.”
Link Airways Manager Network and Strategy and Development Jeff Boyd said the partnership would enhance connectivity for people travelling to regional towns and cities.
“Link Airways is extremely pleased to team with Virgin Australia as a Domestic Codeshare Partner Airline and it looks forward to welcoming many more new customers aboard,” he said.
