The 2025 Childers Festival is raising a stein to something new, with Crescent St presents: Oktoberfest in July joining this year’s line-up.
Taking place on Saturday 26 July from 2 pm to 8.30 pm in Crescent Street, this free-entry Bundaberg Regional Council event promises a lively celebration of Bavarian culture in the heart of Childers.
Festival-goers can take part in the best of Oktoberfest tradition, enjoying authentic German beers, mouth-watering bratwursts, pretzels and other classic treats – all to the soundtrack of live German music and entertainment.
The fun doesn’t stop there – guests can join in lively dance workshops, test their strength in the competitive Stein Holding Challenge, or dress to impress in the Mr and Mrs Oktoberfest contest.
Council events portfolio spokesperson Councillor Steve Cooper said Oktoberfest in July was a welcome new addition to the region’s most iconic festival.
“The Childers Festival is all about bringing people together to celebrate what makes our region so special – history, people and culture,” Cr Cooper said.
“Each year our Crescent St presents event features a unique culture and they have been gaining in popularity.
